After a very successful Launch in Rabat of December in 2015, ACWAY organized and delivered its 2nd International Forum in Brisbane Australia, in partnership with Griffith University’s Centre for Interfaith & Cultural Dialogue who hosted the event.

The Forum included keynote addresses, project presentations by the ACWAY youth, training and thematic workshops, and activity planning.

Objectives

  1. Provide a platform for young people (the ACWAY Fellows) to present their projects to key stakeholders who share a vision for coexistence between cultures and religions
  2. Develop a series of practical recommendations and best practices through intergenerational exchange workshops
  3. initiate the Interfaith Development Goals to present to a consortium of partners who share the responsibility of sustaining a coordinated approach to promoting religious & cultural harmony
  4. Launch the ACWAY Charter for Peace

Outcome

The Forum
  • Highlighted key recommendations for intercultural working practices and
  • Developed and launched the ACWAY Charter for Peace.
  • Initiated the Interfaith Development Goals (IDGs)
  • Designed and selected the ACWAY Activities Campaign title for the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week 2017
