The 4th ACWAY Forum was hosted by the Baku International Multiculturalism Center and in partnership with the Stirling Foundation, Young Friends of Azerbaijan and the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan

The Forum was an opportunity for the participants to contextualize the concepts of multiculturalism and interfaith harmony into practice.

Participants engaged in skills-based workshops and critical dialogue thinking around interfaith action and took part in site visits and excursions around the country (to the towns of Oguz, Shaki, and Qabala).

The following topics were addressed in the forum’s panels:

  • Presentations of multicultural activities implemented by ACWAY fellows,
  • Interreligious dialogue; principles and practice
  • Monitoring and evaluating social activities,
  • Financial literacy (effective budgeting and fundraising for non-profits),
  • Project management, and many more as well as social and intercultural activities.

Objectives

  1. Share experiences and examples of how young people can put interfaith peacebuilding into practice;
  2. Deliver a skill-based, outcomes-driven program that allows participants to contextualize the course themes into action;
  3. Provide a platform for dialogue concerning multiculturalism and implementation challenges.

Outcome

The Forum
  • Developed further the IDGs with wider consultation
  • Developed the ACWAY Strategy
  • Designed and selected the ACWAY Activities Campaign title for the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week 2020
