The project aims to build cultural awareness and promote genuine peace and harmony in Myanmar, the founder’s home country. It responds to observed tensions and misunderstandings surrounding religious and cultural differences, particularly in relation to visible expressions of identity such as food, clothing, and worship practices. In the context of recent religious conflicts in Myanmar, these sensitivities have become more pronounced, highlighting the urgent need for greater understanding and mutual respect.
The initiative includes training sessions where participants explore cultural learning frameworks such as “knowing about,” “knowing how,” “knowing why,” and “knowing oneself.” Participants are also encouraged to share their own cultural backgrounds, engage in dialogue, and take part in interactive cultural awareness activities and games designed to build familiarity and connection.
The expected outcome is that, through increased understanding of both their own and others’ cultures, participants will develop greater acceptance of diversity and pluralism. This, in turn, supports the development of tolerance and contributes to fostering peaceful coexistence within communities.
