IDG Goal: Goal 7 – Cooperation with Non-Religious Actors
In the business world, executives encounter colleagues from various faith backgrounds daily but receive little to no formal education on how to engage with them respectfully, a gap that creates missed opportunities and workplace tensions. To address this, 11 Executive MBA students ranging from their late twenties to early fifties, representing a balanced mix of genders and diverse faith backgrounds including Christian, Hindu, Jewish, and non-religious, completed the Interfaith Leadership Certificate Program. Through the programme, participants developed practical skills in conflict resolution, inclusive leadership, and cross-cultural communication, with several recommending it be integrated permanently into the MBA curriculum. The initiative also forged stronger connections between the business community and local faith institutions, including the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin and the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, with participants leaving committed to building more inclusive workplaces.
