HandtoHeart, was a project, that brought together a team of people with different faiths and beliefs on a mission to help Syrian refugee women across
Istanbul in selling their handcraft products. I co-founded HtoH and pitched in our project to Istanbul Crowdup 2016 event, as part of extending dialogue between Turkish community and Syrian community residing in Istanbul in order to promote integration of Syrian refugees in Turkey . Our diverse team
managed to sell some of the handicraft products along with being awarded a slot to pitch at Istanbul TedX event. This project worked with the vision of promoting integration and I spearheaded discussions on the role of interfaith groups in the refugee crisis whilst in the US as an IVLP (International Visitor
Leadership program) participant. I was voluntarily involved in interviewing Syrian women in Turkey in the process of shooting a kickstarter campaign video that aided in creating awareness on the potential of Syrian refugees in the Turkish community while also breaking language barriers and refugee stereotypes.
