In June 2026, ACWAY brought together more than 61 young leaders from 19 countries and 8 faith and non-faith backgrounds in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, for our 2026 Global Youth Forum themed ‘From Intercultural Dialogue to Action’. The Forum recognised these young leaders as active changemakers already working to address division, strengthen communities, and build peace within their own contexts.
The Forum centred on the connection between advocacy, dialogue, and action. Through collaborative and practical sessions, participants reflected on challenges such as polarisation, declining trust, social division, and the difficulty of creating meaningful spaces for people from different backgrounds to connect. They drew on their own lived experiences and the lessons of fellow changemakers, while developing individual community projects designed to translate the learning from Tashkent into action at home.
This report highlights the key themes and impact of the forum. It also reinforces the importance of creating spaces where young people are trusted to shape the future of interfaith and intercultural engagement themselves to turn dialogue into meaningful action.
